In 2014 I...
Deep fried a King Cake. Delicious is an understatement.
Visited family in San Antonio. Went to the boardwalk, saw the Alamo, remembered the Alamo.
Raised a lot of money for babies. My second March for Babies season was super successful and I’m very proud of the hard work and effort I put in for such a great cause.
Celebrated my first wedding anniversary to my handsome hubby.
Vacationed in New York City. Toured the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Ellis Island and the 9-11 Memorial. Visited Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Yankee Stadium, Wall Street and Museum Mile. Saw a play on Broadway. Brunched at the Plaza Hotel. Took a romantic carriage ride through Central Park. Made quick stops in Little Italy, Chinatown, Grand Central Station, NYU and Washington Square. Walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. Had drinks with good friends atop a beautiful NYC rooftop bar. And last but not least, got to see Carrie Bradshaw’s house and Steve and Aidan’s bar from Sex and the City. I’d say it was a very full (and amazing!) anniversary trip.
Played in snow. I’m not talking about Louisiana “snow.” I’m talking about a foot of Rochester, NY snow. I saw more snow in an hour than I’d seen the rest of my life combined!
Won another championship at Mango’s with my awesome teammates.
Discovered Ciroc Amaretto. Game Changer.
Competed in my second Play Dirty Adventure Trail Race. Got really dirty.
Began a new job with Impact Management Group. It’s been a wonderful experience in year one. I have learned a lot and have worked with and for some fantastic people.
Almost lost my sweet Harper to sago poisoning. It was a close call, and I am very lucky she is still here today. Please please heed my warning and don’t let your pets anywhere near sago palms. It is way too dangerous!!!
Dressed up like a Disney princess for Lindsey’s Austin Bachelorette Weekend.
Went to yet another Counting Crows concert and a second with my husband.
Turned 30. I mean turned 29 again…
Finally found the right school for Cameron. It makes a huge difference finding teachers and staff who really care and are willing to work with you and your child.
Ate lots of brussel sprouts. Now that I’ve figured out the proper way to cook them (drizzled with olive oil, salt & pepper, 30 minutes in the oven at 400) they are quite possibly my favorite food in the world. Seriously, try it. It will change your life.
Stood by my dear friend Lindsey as a bridesmaid in her wedding.
Watched my BFF Erica get pregnant and become a Mom – and made sure she was aware at all times of what size fruit her baby was comparable to!
Pulled off yet another family Halloween costume success with a Star Wars theme. The force was most definitely with us.
Made some pretty spectacular new friends in unexpected places.
Hosted my first Tacky Sweater Christmas Party and also a fabulous NYE Extravaganza.
Survived another year of Bootcamp Xplosion.
Completed my 10,000 burpee challenge in June. Exceeded my goal with 12,000 burpees on the year.
Dealt with some disappointments, but found faith in God and His plans for me.
Ended the year with so much hope for 2015. I am absolutely certain that this is going to be an epic year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
