In 2015 I…
Was pregnant for 248 days, 3 hours, and 14 minutes.
Officially became a Mommy when my sweet baby boy was born at 3:14 am on September 6. It’s been the hardest/most amazing thing I’ve done my entire life.
Labored for 25 hours and then needed a C-Section anyway. What are the chances I won't still be reminding him of that on his 18th birthday?
Had the most major surgery of my life … and was awake the entire time. Having a C-section is really surreal. It’s like you know your body is being sliced open (and you can feel it too!), but you’re so enamored by your baby that it doesn’t matter.
Began recovering from a C-section. Now that’s been a bitch. It’s been almost four months and I’m still not sure when I’ll feel human again? (Anyone with experience care to weigh in on this one?)
Nearly lost my mind. Or maybe I did, but who’s keeping track?
Was officially initiated into the “boymom club” … a.k.a. got peed on. A lot.
Changed more diapers in 3.5 months than I have the rest of my life combined.
Are you seeing a theme here? I mean, I gave birth to a human being. That’s a pretty big deal right?
Celebrated two years of marriage to my wonderful husband. We didn’t go to Mexico or NYC, but enjoyed a nice dinner at our favorite restaurant and a night at home with our baby in my belly.
Travelled to Washington, D.C., for a business trip. I love visiting places so rich in history. (And pretending that I can see Olivia Pope on the White House balcony.)
Babymooned in Biloxi.
Bootcamped until 39 weeks pregnant ... still doing (modified) burpees.
Paid off a lot of debt thanks to Dave Ramsey and the Total Money Makeover. We paid cash for EVERYTHING this year, including all costs associated with giving birth and a new baby.
Had a less adventurous (and way more sober) year than usual, but it was totally worth it. Because being Grant’s Mommy is by far the best thing I've done in my life.
Happy New Year!
